FERNGULLY: THE LAST RAINFOREST
30TH ANNIVERSARY SCREENING
Directed by Bill Kroyer | USA | 1992 | 76 mins
(Re)discover a timeless environmental animation film with deep roots in the Byron Hinterland.
For as long as the fairy folk of the FernGully rainforest could remember, human beings were nothing more than a fantastic legend. Then, a beautiful, headstrong young fairy named Crysta and her outrageous, offbeat pal Batty venture out of the jungle and discover a human logging crew destroying the precious rainforest nearby!
After meeting Zak, one of the humans, Crysta accidentally shrinks him down to fairy size and returns with him to FernGully.
Enter an enchanted tropical kingdom alive with amazing characters and creatures, as they embark on a magical journey to save the magical world of FernGully.
This gorgeous eco-fable sparkles with brilliant animation, a 90’s superstar musical score (Sheena Easton, Raffi, Tone-Loc…) and a star-studded cast, including Robin Williams, Samantha Mathis, Tim Curry and Christian Slater.
Screening at A&I Hall, 3 Station Street Bangalow
