This special screening will be followed by a Q&A with director Mara Jean Quinn and Mandy Nolan, discussing the making of the film and its central themes.

Stuck in an unfulfilling job, reeling from a broken engagement and approaching her 30th birthday, Alex finds herself in the throes of an existential crisis, feeling the weight of societal pressures to have achieved certain milestones by a certain age. With her personal life falling apart, and seeking a glimmer of joy for her birthday, she escapes with her best friend to the tiny opal mining town Andamooka, embarking on a journey of self-exploration.

This raw and honest portrayal of womanhood on the road was directed and produced by Mara Jean Quinn (who also stars) and co-produced by acclaimed actor Aaron Pedersen (Mystery Road, High Country).

“A raw and honest portrayal of womanhood. The film's themes of bravery, freedom, and self-discovery resonate widely” – Cinema Australia
