Introducing the

Green Frame Nature Documentary Award

We are thrilled and proud to announce the launch of the Green Frame Nature Documentary Award - Australia's first competitive award dedicated exclusively to nature documentary filmmaking.

This award brings together five outstanding nature documentaries, Australian and international, competing for both a Jury Prize and an Audience Award. It is a leading initiative that marks a bold new chapter for the festival, placing the Northern Rivers at the centre of a conversation that has never been more urgent.

The Green Frame Award reflects BFF's commitment to cinema that connects audiences to the natural world: films that inform, move, and inspire action.

The forum will create space for screenings, conversations and collaboration, supporting the exchange of ideas and the development of future projects within this rapidly growing field.

The Award will be presented as part of the Bangalow Film Festival, with all films screening within this year’s program. Audiences will have the opportunity to experience each film on the big screen, with the winning titles announced during the festival.

The Green Frame Nature Documentary Award is made possible with the generous support of our Presenting Partners, whose contribution allows us to launch and grow this initiative, and to continue championing films that connect audiences to the natural world.
