Winner of the Grand Jury Prize ( World Cinema Documentary) at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival, The Eternal Memory chronicles the lives of Augusto and Paulina, as they navigate the challenges of Alzheimer’s disease.

Directed by Oscar-nominated director Maite Alberdi (The Mole Agent) and produced by Pablo Larraín (Spencer, Ema, Jackie), The Eternal Memory tells an uplifting yet heartbreaking love story that balances vibrant individual and collective remembrance with the longevity of an unbreakable human bond.

As one of Chile’s most prominent cultural commentators and television presenters, Augusto is no stranger to building an archive of memory. Now he turns that work to his own life, trying to hold on to his identity with the help of his beloved Paulina.

Day by day, the couple face this challenge head-on, relying on the tender affection and sense of humour shared between them that remains remarkably, fully intact.

“What rings truest and richest about The Eternal Memory, as exquisitely humane a film as you’re likely to see all year, is what abiding love and stewardship look like in the moment: to care so deeply for someone as to tend to their memories, and to be loved so deeply that it’s the last beautiful thought one may ever need.” - Los Angeles Times
